Water Purification Kits for Families Living with HIV/Aids

Country: Uganda | Focus: Water | Goal:  $28,400

Provide water purification for families affected by HIV/Aids in Uganda.

Program Goal:  To provide a better source of safe drinking water to families living with HIV/Aids through the distribution of PUR (water purification) sachets and water purification sets. Additionally, families will be educated about the importance of proper hygiene, how to prevent diarrhea and the danger signs of diarrhea that require prompt medical attention.

Expected Results:  Approximately 1,000 households, currently living with HIV/Aids (5,000 to 6,000 people) will have a reliable source for clean water. Families will be educated about the importance of hygiene and sanitation, and the prevalence of diarrhea will be greatly reduced among participating households.
